EU and UK REACH registration statistics

EU and UK REACH registration statistics

jeudi 14 avril 2022
ECHA has been publishing its registration statistics for many years. According to the latest report, on 31 March 2022 almost 16000 companies held more than 100000 valid registrations for around 23000 single substances.

Among other interesting information, the report shows the distribution of the registrations by country (including Northern Ireland) and the breakdown by registration type (full or intermediate), joint submission role, company size, registrant role in the supply chain (manufacturer, importer, only representative…), tonnage band.

Although similar information is not (yet?) available about UK REACH registrations, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) published a list of substances for which information has been submitted to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the “grandfathered registrations notified substances list” of approximately 4000 substances which were notified by 1 July 2021 to HSE (in other words claimed) by former GB-based EU REACH registration holders.
